Summer Term - Mycenae House, 90 Mycenae Rd, Blackheath, London SE3 7SE
Tues 23rd April - Tues 23rd July 2019 | 11am (50 mins)
This term we will be exploring an array of nature-inspired themes from April Showers and Summer Blooms to Butterflies and Pond Life, as we craft and create our way from Spring through to Summer!
Each week children will enjoy a theme-related story or a selection of children’s poems to fire up their imaginations, before being invited to participate in our group arts & crafts activities. We will create two mini-projects each week, experimenting with a wide variety of colours, textures, materials and techniques along the way and utilising everything from paint, paper, sequins and glue to leaves, sticks, flowers and seeds. As well as our guided activities there is also space for children to draw and colour their own creations independently, allowing them the opportunity to join in with the group activities at a pace that suits them.
Classes take place inside the beautiful historic building of Mycenae House in Blackheath. After the class you can enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding wooded gardens or grab a coffee in the café!
Please note – expect to get messy, so please come dressed for this! (aprons will be provided). Most activities are floor based, allowing easy accessibility for the children and the freedom for them to move around during the class. Classes are recommended for ages 18 Months - 4 years.

Tails from the Woods Founder
Are you looking for magic?
See how a Kestrel
Hovers in air;
Watch a cat move:
What elegant grace!
See how a conker
Fits its case.
Watch a butterfly come
From a chrysalis,
Or a chick from an egg –
There’s magic in this;
Then think of the
Of an acorn becoming
A huge oak tree.
There’s magic in sunsets
And patterned skies:
There’s magic in moonlight –
Just use your eyes!
If you’re looking for magic
It’s easily found:
It’s all around.
